SlikStix - Out of business?

Postby toddm » Sun Dec 09, 2007 6:27 pm

I just confirmed that SlikStik is going through some problems and may be out of business. That's very surprising because I feel they had a really good product. But I have removed the links from my article and instead put links to this forum. If anyone has suggestions for a better SlikStik replacement please post it to the forums. Cheers, Todd

This is a very big shock to me. I ordered mine in October. They never sent me an email or anything.I guess I will have to get my control panel some where else.I was also wondering, how did you hear about them going out of business?

One of my friends got one of their last units in their stock and I heard they were having credit card processing issues. I just found this out today, but SlikStix is going through an ownership change. Here is the e-mail to him from SlikStiks:

---- SlikStik response:

"I know the rumors going on around the web, and I can assure you we are in business and not going anywhere. there is an ownership change going on at the moment (not effecting orders) and there are some customers that had orders in house during that time and those orders are caught up in the ownership change... If you have some friends that are looking for panels please feel free to send them over to us, I assure you they will receive the same excellent service you have received. Let me know what they want to purchase and I may be able to extend a 3% holiday discount to them if purchased relatively soon. --Christian (ssarcadeproducts@yahoo.com), SS Customer Support, Team SlikStik"

No it's cool, I'm hoping that e-mail address is the best way to get in touch with them. Let us know if you hear anything. I do not think they cheated you out of money, more like they are internally fighting over your money and stuff isn't getting processed. I really hope it works out as they really had a solid product.

Let us know what happens.
Good luck!

This is my first post, so please pardon if I'm completely off base, but I'm in the market to build a MAME system, on the request of my wife. I was looking at purchasing a SlikStik controller, as well, but seems there are some issues with the company, in general. So my question is, the controllers on mameroom.com, are those all from SlikStik as well? Specifically the controllers located here: http://www.mameroom.com/webstore/produc ... ollers.asp

Thanks.
