TV Quality?

Postby Meatball » Fri Dec 14, 2007 4:17 pm

I'm building out my cabinet and happened to have an old 27" TV laying around. It's a Panasonic CT-27G13W. Has most of the features I wanted, but honestly, the picture quality is so so.

Windows looks horrible in it and I can barely make out anything even running at 640x480.

I'm also using Maximus Arcade. The intro movies, flash animations and games looks pretty good, but the text for the game list looks a bit washed out and not particularly clear.

I hate to spend $500 for an arcade monitor or 27" LCD/TV when I have one laying around. Any thoughts?

I bought a old 27' from an electronics shop for 100 bucks. It also had the power return feature, it was a Panasonic. When I hooked it up it looked horrible.I messed with the settings a little bit,on my television, and got it too look pretty good. One thing I did was change my windows font to super big, which clears up some of the distorted type.It looks pretty good now.Saved my about 400 dollars on a Arcade Monitor.I hope this helps.
