White Noise App with 5.1.1

Postby kjvella » Mon May 21, 2012 11:13 pm

I downloaded White Noise in January to use on the iPhone4S. It worked great, esp the air condition and airplane sounds. Since the upgrade in software to 5.1.1, the battery life has gone down a lot esp. when I run White Noise. As a way of troubleshooting the problem, I worked with Apple to find the problem. They tried several different things. After taking all of their suggestions, I removed White Noise from the phone. After that, I was able to recover 1 hour of battery charge from each full charge.
Am I the only one having this problem, or is there a fix available? I really like using the app esp. when I travel. Thanks, Kenny

If White Noise is not playing then it shouldn't be consuming any power. Are you saying just having the app installed without playing sound causes it to lose battery life?

I have noticed a similar problem. Even when White Noise is not running, it seems to continue to consume battery power. Killing the app seems to resolve the problem; however, this should not be necessary.

Actually, simply closing the app does not seem to fix it. I have uninstalled the app completely and I'm recharging the battery now to see if battery life improves.

iPhone apps get suspended when they are closed and they are not doing any background services. So if our app is not playing audio and no alarms have been set it will suspend and not consume any power.
