Noob 101 - Let's start with the TV

I love this site. It is exactly what I was looking for in a wilderness of information.

I purchased a Total Carnage cabinet with partial guts to build a MAME machine. It looks pretty good, I am not sure how much I will change with the artwork. One thing, is I am absolutely horrible with wiring, so I am going to spend the money on the plug in controls.

When it comes to the monitor - I have two TV's I can use, but for the life of me I can't find if they have:

power-return
S-video
high comb filter

They are both about 4 years old.

RCA 27V550T

and

Magnavox
27MDTR20/17

I have been scouring the websites looking for these answers - is there a place I can look specifically I don't know about?

Thank you anyone who can assist a poor soul.

Power return is tested by just pulling the power cord and then plugging it back in. If the power comes back on, then your good.

S-Video is not required and it really depends what your graphics card supports. You can use either RCA or S-Video. Just go with S-Video first and fall back to RCA if needed (composite)

The high comb filter... well I would do this as a test... Just put a DVD in and pause the credits of a movie (text). Whatever looks better is the winner. Text is harder to display than moving images and as you know arcade games have both.

Hope that helps!

Alright after reading through all of this I've decided to use my old Sanyo DS27930 and I have figured the following on my TV...
I have S-Video
I have power return
According to my TV Manual I have 3-Line Digital Comb Filter

So two questions I guess

1. Is three line the same/comparable to high comb filter?

2. Is the fact it's flat screen going to hinder anything besides light gun games?

Thanks a bunch for all this info
