CardCounter improvements

Postby javaman » Tue Nov 25, 2008 8:02 pm

I am an active CC user and would like to propose some improvements to the UI of the app. These improvements are based on my regular use of the application and should alleviate some inconveniences I experienced with the UI, otherwise very good.

1. I highly recommend putting the "main menu" buttons either on the top or the left of the screen. I often accidentally click on them during the training session, as I try to modify the count. The buttons are located so close to the count +/- buttons and pressing them accidentally breaks the session, so I have to start a new one. I would simply swap the top "What's the count" status bar area with the "main menu" area, and that would take care of the problem.

2. I would recommend to increase the size of the +/- buttons so that it would be hard to miss the buttons, as I often use my thumb for the count changes. It would work great if the #1 request above is implemented.

Thanks for the card counter feedback. We have been thinking about changing the layout of how you enter the count (it has happened to me a couple times too). Maybe a view that pops up over the tabs would do the trick along with bigger buttons etc... Possibly a slider too so the count could be dialed in quicker. Thanks again.

Cheers,

Todd,

Thanks for the response. I think that horizontal slider on the bottom, with 0 in the middle of the screen and negative to the left, positive to the right would work well for the count setting. -_________0_________+ I have not programmed for iPhone so I am not sure if such control exists in the API, though. The main menu buttons would probably look/work well at the top of the screen, may be above the status area ("What's the count?").

Thanks for great work,
