Alexa: Ask White Noise to Play

Amazon has sold over 30 million Amazon Echo devices according to Newsweek.  That’s a lot of devices playing music, making calls, setting alarms, controlling light bulbs, and running 3rd party skills.  We are excited to announce that starting today you can install the White Noise Alexa Skill to allow playback of any of the color noises from TMSOFT’s popular White Noise App.  Open the Alexa app and install the White Noise by TMSOFT skill and then say “Alexa, Open White Noise.”  Just follow the directions provided to play any color noise without interruption or gaps in audio.  It’s also free!

Ask Alexa to Play Your Favorite Noise

Ask Alexa to play your favorite color noise for up to 10 hours.  Choose from the following colors–white, brown, pink, gray, blue or violet.  You can also specify how long the sound should play from 1 to 10 hours.  Try the following:

  • “Alexa, ask White Noise to play”
  • “Alexa, ask White Noise to sleep to Brown Noise for 4 hours”
  • “Alexa, tell White Noise to play Pink Noise for 1 hour.”

The Echo will stream your favorite noise without any breaks in audio.  It will also gently fade out the last minute of audio so you can continue to nap or sleep rather than waking up to an abrupt stop in play.  No audio gaps and specifying a duration makes White Noise by TMSOFT a one-of-a-kind skill when compared to other noise generators.

Ask Alexa for App and Sound Info

Want to learn more about the app or the different color noises?  You can try the following phrases:

  • “Alexa, ask White Noise for help”
  • “Alexa, ask White Noise for info on Brown Noise.”
  • “Alexa, ask White Noise what’s Gray Noise?”

Asking Alexa about brown noise will tell you that it sounds like a powerful waterfall in the distance along with information on the audio characteristics.  This is a great way to learn and understand how each color noise works.  We recommend trying all the different sounds to see which one works best for you.
